Market Inspectorate intensifies textile sector inspections

The Central Inspectorate for Market Surveillance (IQMT) has intensified inspections within the textile sector to ensure compliance with trade regulations and consumer protection laws. The crackdown is prompted by increased consumer interest in autumn clothing and widespread promotional sales during September.

Inspectors are focusing on business documentation, invoices, product origins, labeling, and sales conditions. A primary objective is verifying price accuracy, specifically ensuring that the price displayed on products matches the amount charged at the register and any advertised promotional discounts. These inspections extend to both physical retail stores and online businesses.

The Consumer Protection Department noted that it receives daily complaints regarding price discrepancies. Any identified violations will be addressed through punitive measures established by the Law on the Central Inspectorate for Market Surveillance.
