Marko Šapit leaves HRT to join Croatian Water Polo Federation

Sports journalist and commentator Marko Šapit has left the Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) after nearly two decades to take on a new professional role. Šapit has been appointed as the marketing director and head of public relations for the Croatian Water Polo Federation.

Reflecting on his departure, Šapit stated that he felt unable to implement necessary changes within the large television system at HRT. In his new position, he will manage social media, the federation's website, and internal communications while continuing to stay connected to sports.

In addition to his administrative duties, Šapit will host the sports podcast ‘Tribina’ and will continue commentary work, specifically focusing on European basketball for Sport Klub.
