Marko Nikolic discusses AEK Athens' ambitions and Real Madrid clash

AEK Athens coach Marko Nikolic shared his perspective on the club's progress and upcoming challenges during a football forum in Belgrade. He addressed the rising expectations from fans and media following the team's recent title win, noting that success naturally increases pressure.

Nikolic highlighted that despite their achievements, AEK remains fourth in Greece regarding budget, squad value, and transfer investment. He emphasized that this financial gap does not diminish the team's competitive spirit, particularly ahead of their upcoming Champions League match against Real Madrid. He stated that while Real Madrid is a significantly more expensive squad, AEK will enter the pitch with the intent to win.

Reflecting on the club's development, Nikolic described their starting point as being at -100 rather than zero, crediting the process and various mentors for the team's upward trajectory.
