Marks & Spencer invests £4 million to cut organic food prices
Marks & Spencer is investing over £4 million to reduce prices across its organic food range, aiming to make organic products more accessible to a broader customer base. The price cuts affect more than 50 items, including meat, dairy, fruit, and vegetables, with some individual price reductions reaching up to £1.60.
This strategic move is intended to attract price-conscious shoppers and position the retailer as a destination for full weekly grocery shops, rather than just premium or occasional purchases. The investment coincides with a growing organic market in the UK, which has seen annual sales increases of approximately 4.4%. To support this initiative, M&S plans to introduce dedicated organic zones within refurbished Foodhalls to improve product visibility across fresh, frozen, and ambient categories.
