Markíza's 'Dunaj' returns with 15th season on September 1

Slovak broadcaster Markíza announced that the historical drama series Dunaj will resume with its 15th season on 1 September at 20:30, airing twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The new episodes will depict the liberation of Bratislava and the concluding phase of World War II, as described by series development head Evita Twardzik: “Nádej, eufória, hrôza.” and “V sérii, ktorá štartuje v septembri nás čaká oslobodenie Bratislavy a koniec vojny.”

The storyline continues the fates of characters left in peril at the end of season 14, including Helga Klausová (Jana Majeská) and other survivors such as Lena, Imrich and Anton. New plot elements introduce the post‑war environment and the personal consequences for the protagonists, while maintaining the series’ focus on historical detail and dramatic tension.
