Markíza's SuperStar returns Sep 2, moves to Wednesday evenings

After a five‑year break, Slovak broadcaster Markíza will launch a new season of the talent show SuperStar on 2 September. The programme shifts from its traditional weekend slot to Wednesday evenings at 20:30, marking a notable change in its broadcast schedule. The revived series retains long‑time judge Pavol Habera and adds singer Ewa Farna, actor‑host Jakub Prachař, and rapper Calin to the panel. Former host Leoš Mareš returns to present the show. Producers promise a modern visual identity, greater use of social media and a focus on the contestants’ personal stories, aiming to attract a younger audience while celebrating the format’s 30‑year anniversary.
