Marl daycare center begins major roof renovation

Renovation work is set to begin immediately at the Kita Blauland daycare center in Marl to repair significant damage to its roof. The damage, which affects the area above the children's cloakroom, was identified by the city's building management office on August 18.

The repairs will be conducted in four stages and are expected to continue until mid-January 2027. To maintain daycare operations, three groups will remain in the building by rotating through different rooms as construction progresses. A fourth group, known as the ‘Dinos’, will temporarily relocate to the parish hall of St. Heinrich Church starting August 31.

To minimize disruption, loud construction work will be prohibited on weekdays between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Scaffolding will be erected first to provide weather protection during the phased repairs.
