Marl Secures €5.61 Million for Friedenspark Renovation and Creiler Platz Revamp

The city of Marl in North Rhine‑Westphalia has been awarded €5.61 million from the state’s urban‑development funding programme. The money will cover additional costs incurred during the renovation of the Friedenspark and will finance the first construction phase of the Creiler Platz redesign.

Mayor Thomas Terhorst said the phased approach allows an early connection between the two sites, enabling work to begin on the central area of Creiler Platz, including its water basin, while the town hall continues its own refurbishment. The funding guarantees that key downtown projects can proceed without further financial delays.
