Marlen Reusser loses Tour de France podium chances after crash

Swiss cyclist Marlen Reusser has lost her chance to reach the podium in the Tour de France Femmes after a difficult final stage. Entering the final day in third place in the general classification, Reusser struggled on the second ascent of the Col d'Eze and subsequently suffered a crash. Although she completed the course, the time loss significantly dropped her position.

As a result of Reusser's misfortune, Elisa Longo Borghini moved up into the third position virtually, while Dominika Włodarczyk moved from eighth to seventh.

Movistar team leader Kelvin Dekker confirmed that the team's strategy has shifted from pursuing the overall win to focusing on defending Reusser's remaining position. Dekker noted that the team had hoped for a different scenario but now intends to race more conservatively to consolidate her standing.
