Marlene Herberth appointed to lead cultural and educational departments in Romania
Marlene Herberth has been appointed as the new head of the Friedrich-Teutsch Encounter and Cultural Center, as well as the newly established Department of Culture and Education for the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Romania (EKR).
During her introduction, Bishop Reinhart Guib outlined a strategic development plan for the EKR, focusing on five core areas: strategic development, spiritual life, diaconia and social work, culture and education, and sustainable administration. The creation of the new department aims to strengthen the connection between historical heritage, education, and social dialogue.
The Friedrich-Teutsch Center serves as a central hub for the Transylvanian community, housing an archive, library, museum, research center, and book cafe. The new leadership structure is intended to expand the center's role as a site for scientific research and public engagement.
