Marlene Lufen calls 'Promi Shopping Queen' a harsh experience

In 2018, German TV presenter Marlene Lufen and influencer Jessica Haller took part in the reality show "Promi Shopping Queen". Lufen recounts in her podcast "M wie Marlene" that a single filming day lasted 12–13 hours, with scarce food and limited breaks, and that the final look left her feeling "stupid". She describes the production as a "bad experience" that was physically and mentally demanding. Haller, who won the competition, disputes Lufen's assessment, saying she is exaggerating. Lufen also linked the stressful shoot to personal pressures at the time, including her mother's Alzheimer’s disease, her children’s adolescence, ongoing on‑camera work, and the onset of menopause. The podcast episode highlights the tough conditions behind the glossy TV format.
