Marley, heroic search and rescue dog, honored by Italian fire brigade

The Macerata fire brigade and the National Fire Corps have honored Marley, a renowned search and rescue dog, following the conclusion of his service. Marley worked for nearly ten years, from November 2013 to April 2023, alongside his handler, Dante Mariucci.

Throughout his career, Marley participated in several high-profile emergency operations, including search efforts following the 2016 earthquake in Central Italy and the collapse of the Morandi Bridge in Genoa. In addition to these major disasters, he performed numerous surface searches for missing persons, utilizing his specialized training and olfactory skills to assist rescue teams in difficult environments.
