Marília City Hall launches elderly violence prevention project

The Marília City Hall, through its Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance and Citizenship, conducted the ‘Café com Bom Humor’ project to raise awareness about preventing violence against the elderly. Held between October 7 and 9 as part of the Month of the Elderly, the initiative utilized theater and humor to address various forms of violence that often occur in family and social environments.

The program included six in-person theatrical performances at various municipal services and institutions, such as the Anadir Hila, Anos Dourados, and Irmã Dilma Day Centers for the Elderly, as well as the Casa do Caminho Long-Term Care Institution. Approximately 600 elderly individuals participated in the activities, with the total reach extending to about 780 people when including staff and employees of the involved institutions.
