Marília launches training for new food safety regulations
The Marília City Hall, through its Sanitary Surveillance (VISA) agency and in partnership with Sebrae/SP, has announced technical training for the food sector scheduled for October 6, 7, and 8.
The initiative aims to prepare business owners and food handlers for the new Portaria CVS/SP nº 3, effective October 4, 2026. This regulation will replace the long-standing Portaria CVS nº 5/2013 and introduces stricter standards for food safety, hygiene, and production in the state of São Paulo.
A key requirement of the new mandate is that all food handlers must provide proof of participation in a Good Food Handling Practices course with a minimum workload of eight hours. Talita Domingues Pereira Molina, the VISA supervisor in Marília, emphasized that this requirement underscores the importance of continuous training and consumer health protection.
