Marília Mendonça honored with São Paulo exhibition and documentary
A tribute to the late Brazilian sertanejo singer Marília Mendonça is being presented through both a physical exhibition and a documentary series.
The exhibition, titled ‘Marília Mendonça – Sentimento Louco’, is currently running at the Museu da Imagem e do Som (MIS) in São Paulo until November 29. The display features personal items, costumes, guitars, and awards, including the outfit worn during her final performance in Sorocaba. The exhibit also recreates environments from her home and showcases items related to her songwriting process, as well as personal records involving her son, Leo.
Complementing the physical exhibit, a documentary series titled ‘Marília Mendonça: Sentimento Louco’ is set to premiere on Prime Video on October 16, 2026. The production utilizes a massive archive of over 530,000 images and 50,000 videos, along with personal notes, messages, and audio. The series aims to provide insight into her creative process and daily life through access to her personal devices and testimonials from family, friends, and colleagues.
