Marília Mendonça mother requests fans stop sharing accident photos

Ruth Moreira, mother of the late Brazilian singer Marília Mendonça, has issued an emotional plea on social media asking fans to refrain from sharing images of the singer's fatal plane crash or her funeral services.

As the fifth anniversary of the tragedy approaches on November 5, Moreira stated that while she understands fans intend to honor the singer, revisiting these moments causes significant pain for her and the family. She described the request as a plea from a mother who suffers daily after losing her daughter.

Marília Mendonça died in a plane crash on November 5, 2021, at age 26, while traveling to a performance in Minas Gerais. The aircraft struck a power line cable before crashing. The family has previously dealt with the unauthorized leak of autopsy images in 2023, which led to legal consequences for those involved in the distribution of the sensitive material.
