Marlink to acquire UK defense specialist GRC
Marlink has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of Global RadioData Communications Ltd (GRC), a UK-based specialist in communication networks for defense and government customers. The transaction is expected to close in August 2026.
Based in Hereford, GRC contributes approximately £35 million in annual revenue and a team of 30 specialist professionals to Marlink’s Government and Defence business unit. GRC specializes in designing, integrating, and supporting satellite, radio frequency (RF), cloud, and IP networking solutions, including tactical situational awareness and rapidly deployable communications systems. The company maintains established relationships and operational support contracts with the UK Ministry of Defence and NATO.
The acquisition aims to strengthen Marlink’s presence in the European government and critical national infrastructure sectors. This move responds to increasing demand for secure, sovereign-grade managed connectivity that remains resilient when terrestrial networks are compromised. GRC will continue to operate under its established brand with its current leadership team to ensure service continuity.
