Marlon Brando criticizes Charlie Chaplin's character

In his autobiography, Marlon Brando reflected on his professional experience working with Charlie Chaplin, describing the legendary filmmaker as “the most cruel man I have ever known.”

The tension stemmed from the production of the 1967 romantic comedy “The Countess from Hong Kong,” which was likely Chaplin’s final film. The movie, set on a transatlantic voyage between Hong Kong and San Francisco, featured Brando as an American diplomat and Sophia Loren as a mysterious Russian former ballerina. Despite Brando’s initial enthusiasm for the project, the filming process left him deeply disappointed.
