Marlon Lara supports Liberal Party reorganization in Honduras

Honduran Deputy Marlon Lara has expressed support for the Liberal Party’s national reorganization process, emphasizing the need to strengthen the party's grassroots structure to prepare for future elections.

Lara noted that while the party has seen a renewal of leadership since 2009, a major challenge remains moving away from a model that only becomes active during election cycles. He advocated for a permanent organizational presence across neighborhoods, villages, municipalities, and departments to better identify and connect with supporters.

The proposed reorganization aims to involve local, municipal, and departmental councils, as well as the Central Executive Council of the Liberal Party (CCEPL). Lara acknowledged public concerns regarding the central body's recent lack of meetings but highlighted the party's recent electoral growth—increasing from approximately 300,000 to nearly one million votes—as a foundation that requires a more solid territorial structure and clear political proposal to consolidate.
