Marlon Moraes uses martial arts to subdue motorist during Florida traffic stop

Bodycam footage from a traffic stop in Coral Springs, Florida, has gone viral, showing former UFC fighter Marlon ‘Magic’ Moraes using martial arts to subdue a belligerent motorist.

The incident occurred during an evening stop where Moraes and his colleagues were addressing a couple. According to the footage, the male passenger became increasingly hostile toward the officers, using verbal insults and challenging Moraes physically. Despite Moraes issuing warnings to the individual to avoid escalating the situation, the man stepped toward the officer and made threats.

Moraes, a former bantamweight fighter who retired from the UFC in 2023, responded by executing a hip toss that brought the man to the ground, allowing other officers to move in and handcuff him. Moraes joined the Davie Police Department in June 2024 before transitioning to the Coral Springs Police Department later that year.
