Marmaris aims for year-round tourism by 2027

During the Muğla Provincial Promotion and Development Board meeting held in Marmaris, officials discussed strategic goals for the 2027 tourism season. Led by Muğla Governor Dr. İdris Akbıyık and involving the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), the meeting focused on transitioning Marmaris toward a “Four Seasons Marmaris” model.

Marmaris Mayor Acar Ünlü emphasized that the objective is to move beyond merely increasing tourist numbers. Instead, the strategy aims to extend the tourism season, diversify target markets, increase the economic value per visitor, and protect the region's natural assets.

Ünlü noted that while hotel occupancy rates exceeded 90 percent between June 15 and September 30, there has been a decline in overall revenue and profitability. The municipality is working to develop the institutional and strategic infrastructure necessary to transform these goals into a concrete marketing program in collaboration with the TGA.
