Marmaris cruise port welcomes 3,700 tourists on first Aroya Manara arrival

The Malta‑flagged cruise ship Aroya Manara docked in Marmaris, Turkey, bringing 3,700 passengers and 1,054 crew members for the first of ten scheduled August sailings. The vessel, 335 m long, arrived at the customs‑controlled Marmaris harbour, allowing tourists to explore the town, marina and nearby historic sites, and to shop with local merchants, generating a noticeable boost for the district’s economy.

Marmaris Cruise Port officials report that the 2026 cruise season already sees 33 large passenger ships in port, with a target of handling 140‑150 ships annually and about 250,000 passengers and crew by season’s end. Local business leaders, including the chamber of commerce president and the port manager, note that day‑trip cruise visitors stimulate a wide range of services—from shops and restaurants to taxis and tour operators—providing significant economic activity for the region.
