Marmaris Municipality launches ‘Butt Warriors’ environmental project
Marmaris Municipality has launched the ‘Butt Warriors’ (İzmarit Savaşçıları) project to combat cigarette butt pollution and increase environmental awareness in the region. The initiative aims to prevent littering on streets, beaches, and in businesses.
A first meeting was held with volunteers, including representatives from Marmaris Nature Volunteers, Tazelenme University, and various environmental associations. During the meeting, Deputy Mayor Sedat Kirt emphasized the goal of protecting the local environment and serving as a model for the rest of Turkey.
The project will involve volunteers in field activities, awareness campaigns, and cleaning organizations. A detailed roadmap for the project is expected to be finalized and shared with the public within the next month.
