Marmaris Municipality launches environmental volunteer project

Marmaris Municipality has launched a new volunteer initiative called ‘Cigarette Butt Warriors’ (İzmarit Savaşçıları) to combat environmental pollution caused by discarded cigarette butts. The project aims to move beyond simple cleanup efforts by focusing on behavioral change and increasing public awareness.

Volunteers will work in collaboration with environmental associations to develop campaigns, creative ideas, and social media content to highlight the damage caused by cigarette butts. Participants will engage directly with citizens in streets, businesses, and beaches to promote environmental consciousness. Interested individuals can apply to join the network through the Marmaris Municipality website.
