Turkey night museum visitors reach record 1.3 million

Turkey’s night museum initiative has reached a record 1,326,590 visitors, marking a 32% increase compared to the previous year. Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced the figures, noting that the program allows visitors to explore historical and cultural heritage in a unique evening atmosphere.

Ephesus Archaeological Site led the visitor numbers with 501,811 guests, followed by Galata Tower with 277,557 and Hierapolis (Pamukkale) with 190,910. Other notable locations included the Bodrum Underwater Archaeology Museum, Didim Archaeological Site, and Marmaris Museum.

Significant growth rates were observed in specific locations, such as the Istanbul Archaeology Museums, which saw a 183% increase, and the Didim Archaeological Site, which rose by 119%. The 2026 program, which ran across 22 sites from June 1 to October 1, saw extensions in certain areas like Ephesus and Göreme due to high demand.

In addition to the museum records, Marmaris is preparing for a diverse series of events in late October, including the 37th Marmaris International Yachting Week, the Valuable Scraps art project, and Marmaris Oktoberfest.
