Marín announces record-breaking Festa Corsaria programming

The municipality of Marín has announced the full programming for the 2026 Festa Corsaria, scheduled for August 14 and 15. This edition has reached record levels of participation, with 100 requests received for pirate-themed feasts and meals, comprising 68 from individuals and 32 from local hospitality businesses.

The festival commemorates the historical events of August 1800 in Aguete, specifically focusing on the figure of Juan Gago de Mendoza and the defense of the town against English troops attempting to seize a silver cargo from the frigate Alcudia.

Activities include a Corsair Market, historical maritime vessels, traditional 1800s sailing meetings, and demonstrations of traditional maritime trades such as blacksmithing and net making. The event will also feature a Corsair Decoration Contest and a nighttime spectacle dedicated to Gago de Mendoza, concluding with a performance by DJ Pablo Grande.
