Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Raï meets Archbishop Ieronymos
Cardinal Bechara Boutros Raï, the Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and all the East, met with Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece at the Holy Archbishopric of Athens. The meeting included several high-ranking clergy members, such as Bishop Barnabas of Christoupolis and Bishop Theologos of Talantii.
During the discussion, Archbishop Ieronymos expressed solidarity with the people of Lebanon and the broader Middle East. He emphasized that Christian communities are an organic part of the history and culture of the region, stating, ‘Christians of the East are not strangers to the societies in which they live, nor are they temporary guests in their ancestral homes.’ He noted that the Church of Greece follows the situation in the Middle East with brotherly interest and supports the need for social cohesion and peaceful coexistence.
