Marosa founder distributes €4.2 million bonus to employees after sale
Pedro Pestana, the founder of the Spanish technology company Marosa, has distributed approximately €4.2 million in bonuses to his 120 employees following the company's sale for €112 million. The decision follows the acquisition of Marosa by Wolters Kluwer.
Pestana stated that the distribution was intended to recognize that the company's success was a collective effort rather than the result of a single individual. The bonuses were awarded to all staff members, including recent hires, though special recognition was given to early employees who joined when the company was a small startup in Vigo, Spain.
Marosa specializes in developing technological solutions for VAT management, electronic invoicing, and other international tax obligations. Following the acquisition, the company will continue to operate from its headquarters in Vigo, and all 120 employees will remain with the organization.
