Marquense defeats Antigua GFC 2-1 with late comeback

Marquense secured a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory against Antigua GFC during the 12th round of the Apertura 2026 tournament at the Marquesa de La Ensenada stadium.

Antigua GFC initially controlled the match, taking a 1-0 lead in the 46th minute through a goal by Diego Fernández. Antigua had an opportunity to extend their lead in the 71st minute, but Kevin López missed a critical chance.

In stoppage time, Marquense was awarded a penalty following a review in the 92nd minute. David Chuc converted the penalty in the 93rd minute to equalize. Shortly after, in the 98th minute, Carlos Santos scored from a cross to complete the turnaround and secure the win for the home side.
