Marquinhos calls for improved performance in Brazil national team

Marquinhos, a veteran defender and leader for the Brazil national team, has addressed the team's current transitional phase following a 1-1 draw against Australia. The PSG defender emphasized that performance and results are essential to maintaining a positive team environment, expressing dissatisfaction with the team's inability to convert chances into goals.

As one of the most experienced players in the squad, Marquinhos noted that being in his thirties requires him to fight harder for his position alongside younger players. He highlighted the importance of stability for new players adjusting to the coaching philosophy, suggesting that veterans should help create a calm environment to facilitate their performance.

Additionally, Marquinhos offered observations regarding the team's tactical approach under Carlo Ancelotti. He noted that the team lacked dynamism and compactness during recent play, relying too heavily on long balls. He suggested that the squad needs to become more robust and that tactical adjustments are necessary to compete effectively in major tournaments.
