Marrakech Air Show to showcase Moroccan-Israeli defense ties

The Marrakech Air Show, scheduled to take place from October 7 to 10 at the Royal Air Force base in Marrakech, will host over 150 defense sector companies. The event highlights a deepening military and strategic partnership between Morocco and Israel, with several major Israeli defense manufacturers confirmed to participate.

Leading Israeli firms including Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Elbit Systems, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, UVision, and Xtend will showcase advanced technologies such as air defense systems, reconnaissance and combat drones, precision weapons, and satellite technologies. IAI plans to exhibit its LORA precision strike missile and the Heron MK II drone.

This showcase follows significant recent military acquisitions by Morocco, including the $500 million Barak 8 air defense system, participation in a satellite program valued at nearly $1 billion, and various drone fleets such as the Heron 1, Hermes 450, and Hermes 900. Morocco has also invested in artillery, including ATMOS 2000 self-propelled howitzers and PULS multiple rocket launchers.
