Marrakech Folklore Days 2026 to feature Djemaa el-Fna

The eighth edition of the Marrakech Folklore Days is scheduled to take place from October 22 to 25, 2026. The festival will center around the historic Djemaa el-Fna square in Marrakesh, integrating with the city's broader cultural landscape rather than being confined to a single location.

The event aims to highlight living cultural heritage through a program featuring international folklore groups, traditional music, dance, handicrafts, workshops, and festive parades. Organizers have stated that the festival is guided by themes of peace and unity.

Djemaa el-Fna, located at the entrance of the Marrakesh Medina, is recognized by UNESCO as an important cultural space. It was added to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2008, noted for its traditions involving storytellers, musicians, and various artistic expressions.
