Marrakech International Film Festival announces Atlas Workshops selection

The Marrakech International Film Festival has announced the selection of 30 projects and films for the ninth edition of the Atlas Workshops, scheduled to take place from November 22 to 26. The selection includes works from 14 different countries, aimed at supporting Moroccan, Arab, and African cinema.

The participants consist of 14 projects in the development stage, 11 films in production or post-production, and five projects under the “Looks on the Atlas” segment dedicated to Moroccan cinema. The selection features a mix of emerging talents and established directors.

Brazilian director Kleber Mendonça Filho has been named the godfather of this ninth edition. Mendonça Filho, an acclaimed figure in contemporary Brazilian cinema known for films such as “Bacurau” and “Aquarius,” will mentor the upcoming generation of filmmakers. The Atlas Workshops serve as a professional platform within the festival's broader Atlas programs to foster cinematic creativity and professional networking across the regions.
