Marrakech manages tourism events, wildlife crackdowns, and local governance

Marrakech is managing several diverse developments involving tourism, law enforcement, and local governance. The city is preparing to host the 15th edition of PURE Life Experiences from September 7 to 10, 2026, at the Palais des Congrès. This international event aims to strengthen the region's position in the luxury travel market by connecting travel creators and hoteliers.

In response to reports of illegal wildlife sales to tourists, the National Agency for Water and Forests and local judicial authorities have launched a crackdown. Following a video showing the sale of reptiles, officials conducted inspections in the Rahba Lakdima market, seizing wild animals and skins to enforce Law 29.05 regarding protected species.

On the local governance front, community leaders held a meeting with the Sidi Ibrahim Oasis Council to discuss resource allocation and resident needs. Additionally, media personality Fred Sirieix was noted visiting the Royal Mansour Hotel in Marrakech as part of a cultural and linguistic journey.
