Marrakech Photography Encounters launches 6th edition

The 6th edition of the Marrakech Photography Encounters (RPM) has launched under the theme ‘Two Centuries of Light,’ marking the bicentennial of photography. Since its inception in 2016, the festival has become a major photographic event in Africa, serving as a platform for both established and emerging artists from five continents.

This edition emphasizes international dialogue through specific cultural focuses. Italy is highlighted with exhibitions featuring artists such as Massimo Listri and Graziano Arici, exploring historical and cultural ties between Italy and Morocco. Additionally, the festival expands its reach toward Asia with the ‘Crossed Perspectives China-Morocco’ collective exhibition, which brings together Chinese and Moroccan photographers to discuss heritage and contemporary transformations.

Beyond exhibitions, the program includes masterclasses, conferences, and roundtables designed to support professionalization and knowledge transfer within the industry. The Yzza Slaoui Foundation has partnered with the festival for the 2026 Discovery Prize to support emerging talent.
