Marriott International adds JW Marriott and Ritz‑Carlton hotels to Lima luxury portfolio
Marriott International announced the conversion of two flagship hotels in Lima, Peru, into its luxury brands. The former Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center will become JW Marriott Hotel Lima in the Paseo Begonias mixed‑use district of San Isidro, while the current JW Marriott Hotel Lima will be rebranded as The Ritz‑Carlton, Lima in the Miraflores neighborhood. Both properties are slated to join their new brand portfolios in 2028, with the Ritz‑Carlton becoming the second property of the brand on the South American continent.
Walter Regidor, Marriott’s Regional Vice President for Central & South America, said, “The transformation of the two properties represents a milestone for the evolution of hospitality in Lima and reinforces the city’s growing presence on the global travel map as a dynamic urban center.” The moves are part of Marriott’s broader strategy to deepen its luxury footprint across Peru, complementing existing properties in Cusco and Paracas, and to attract sophisticated travelers seeking cultural depth and refined service.
The conversions aim to boost Lima’s appeal as a luxury destination, leveraging the city’s cultural richness, culinary leadership, and vibrant urban energy while expanding Marriott’s global luxury portfolio which already includes over 10 iconic hotels throughout the region.
