Marriott International expands hotel presence in Thailand

Marriott International is significantly expanding its footprint in Thailand through multiple development agreements. In partnership with FICO Corporation, the company plans to add seven hotels totaling 1,262 rooms across Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket. This expansion introduces three new brands to the Thai market: citizenM, Four Points Flex by Sheraton, and Series by Marriott.

The Bangkok projects include the luxury JW Marriott Bangkok Sathorn, citizenM Bangkok Sukhumvit 11, and three Four Points Flex by Sheraton locations. Additionally, the Series by Marriott brand will debut with properties in North Pattaya and Phuket Patong. This collaboration brings the total number of hotels under the Marriott and FICO partnership to eleven.

Separately, Marriott has signed an agreement with KS Hotels and Resorts to develop two properties within the 200-hectare Matalay development in Khao Lak. These include the Moxy Khao Lak Memories Beach, the brand’s first in southern Thailand, and Matalay Khao Lak, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy, which marks the brand’s debut in the country. The Matalay development will feature 4km of beachfront and connect to the existing JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa via a 3km track.
