Marsa Alam investors discuss tourism development with Red Sea Governor
The Governor of the Red Sea, Dr. Walid Al-Barqi, held an extensive meeting with major investors and tourism sector representatives to discuss accelerating investment development in Marsa Alam.
Key discussions focused on addressing infrastructure and service challenges, specifically prioritizing energy and electricity stability to support hotel efficiency and sustainable marine projects. The meeting also addressed enhancing air and sea transport, including the potential expansion of Marsa Alam International Airport and the reactivation of domestic flight routes to improve connectivity between tourist destinations.
Additional strategic points included the development of Port Ghalib, improving road networks leading to tourist sites, and reviewing the status of tourism projects in coordination with the Tourism Development Authority. To streamline the process, the Governor directed the creation of a unified working paper representing investor needs and the formation of a technical committee to conduct field studies and engineering analyses, focusing on green investment and eco-tourism.
