Marsa Maroc stock surges 13‑fold since 2016, becomes MASI heavyweight

Ten years after its debut on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, Marsa Maroc’s share price has risen from 65 dirhams to around 870 dirhams, a gain of roughly 1,238% and a 13‑times multiplication. The company now ranks fourth by market capitalisation on the exchange, with a valuation near 63 billion dirhams, and is the third‑largest component of the MASI index.

The surge coincided with strong fundamentals: revenue more than doubled, EBITDA nearly tripled and net profit increased over five‑fold. In May 2023 the stock was added to the MSCI Frontier Markets index, boosting its visibility to international investors. Marsa Maroc has expanded its footprint to 36 terminals in 21 ports across Morocco, Africa and Europe, including operations in Benin and Liberia and a 45 % stake in Spain’s Boluda Maritime Terminals. The group is developing the Nador West Med hub, partnering with MSC and CMA CGM to operate east and west terminals, and has launched a 4 billion‑dirham investment programme to upgrade Moroccan facilities such as the Casablanca‑Jorf Lasfar corridor.
