Marsai Martin and Kenya Barris launch sixth season of Bet On Black
Actress and producer Marsai Martin has reunited with executive producer Kenya Barris for the sixth season of Bet On Black, an entrepreneurship series on REVOLT. The new season premiered on Monday, Oct. 19, and focuses on student entrepreneurs attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Supported by Target, the season features participants from Howard University, Morehouse College, Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, Grambling State University, and Fayetteville State University. Unlike previous seasons that awarded a single grand prize, this installment utilizes a $500,000 growth fund to provide portions of funding to every participating founder.
Entrepreneurs in the program receive mentorship and resources while retaining 100% ownership of their companies. Over the course of six seasons, Target’s partnership with the series has directed nearly $3 million to Black founders.
