Marsala councilors urge expansion of urban mobility and intermodal terminal

Councilors in Marsala are calling for the immediate activation of urban mobility projects, including bike-sharing services and existing bike stations located at the station, Monumento ai Mille, and the Stadium.

The proposal aims to create a cohesive intermodal system by connecting the railway, buses, bicycles, and parking areas. A central component is a new intermodal terminal in the station area, funded with 5.6 million euros, which would involve relocating the bus terminal from Piazza del Popolo to Viale Fazio to facilitate transfers between trains and public transit.

Local representatives emphasize that infrastructure and services must progress together to allow citizens to easily transition from cars to bicycles or buses, particularly regarding the railway connection to Birgi Airport.
