Marsala social cooperative workers face four months of unpaid wages

Workers at social cooperatives operating under agreements with the Municipality of Marsala have not received their salaries for four months. The CGIL Public Function union in Trapani has denounced the situation, highlighting the extreme gravity of the matter as staff continue to provide essential socio-assistance and healthcare services despite the lack of pay.

The dispute specifically involves personnel from the “Terre di Confine” social cooperative. According to union investigations of the municipal registry, several outstanding invoices owed to the cooperatives remain unpaid due to administrative and financial delays within the public administration.

Andrea Genna, the provincial secretary of CGIL Public Function, has called on Mayor Andreana Patti to take direct responsibility and expedite accounting procedures to settle the arrears. The union emphasized that the financial burden of these administrative delays should not fall on the workers and their families.
