European Heritage Days 2026 to feature cultural events across Europe
The 2026 European Heritage Days, organized by the Council of Europe and the European Commission, will take place on September 26 and 27. This year’s theme is “Protecting heritage. Renewing, resisting, reinventing.”
Across Europe, numerous cities are hosting special events. In Italy, locations such as Moneglia, Alghero, Bologna, and Oristano are offering guided tours, museum openings, and workshops. In Cerignola, initiatives focus on the social reuse of assets confiscated from organized crime. In Tortona, scientific studies of art will be highlighted.
In Greece, events include storytelling sessions in Patras regarding historical heritage and marble-working workshops in Tinos. Various museums and historical sites, including the Sanctuary of Hercules Victor in Tivoli, are participating in the widespread cultural celebration.
