Marseille vs. Olympiacos match flagged as high-risk by French authorities

French authorities have designated the upcoming UEFA Europa League match between Olympique de Marseille and Olympiacos as a ‘very high-risk’ event. Ronan Delcroix, head of the National Directorate for the Fight against Hooliganism (DNLH), noted that security preparations are underway due to potential tensions between organized supporter groups.

To manage safety, French police have established Place de la Joliette as the official meeting point for Olympiacos fans. Supporters are required to gather there between 14:00 and 17:00 for ticket validation and organized transport to the Stade Vélodrome via train. Individual travel to the stadium is prohibited.

Olympiacos has secured 3,500 tickets for the match, which is scheduled for October 15. Authorities have also advised Greek supporters to avoid wearing team colors or insignia while moving through the city of Marseille to prevent incidents.
