Marsh appointed official broker for Proyecto Vicuña mining project
Marsh has been appointed as the official risk broker for Proyecto Vicuña, a major binational mining development located on the border between Argentina and Chile. The project, which focuses on the extraction of copper, gold, and silver, is operated through a joint venture between Lundin Mining and BHP.
Currently in its pre-construction phase, the project is considered a strategic asset for the global energy transition. Marsh secured the contract following a highly competitive bidding process, distinguishing itself through a specialized technical team based in Argentina with a constant presence in the San Juan province.
The risk management program was developed using a coordinated approach involving teams from Argentina, Chile, Canada, and the Latin America and Caribbean region to provide comprehensive coverage for the large-scale investment.
