Marshall Land Research Alliance formed for defence technology
The Marshall Land Research Alliance has been established through a partnership between universities in Canada and Wales and the defence industry firm Marshall Land Systems. The alliance aims to explore new technologies in deployable infrastructure for both military and humanitarian applications.
Founding academic partners include the Universities of Cardiff, South Wales, and New Brunswick. The collaboration, formalized via a Memorandum of Understanding, will facilitate technology transfer, staff exchanges, and joint research and development. Initial research efforts will focus on deployable facilities, such as mobile CT scanners, hospital units, command centres, and mechanical maintenance hubs.
According to Marshall Land Systems CEO Gareth Williams, the transatlantic alliance is intended to support NATO allies and promote international cooperation and economic growth amidst a volatile global environment.
