Marshall launches Acton IV and Stanmore IV home speakers
Marshall has released the fourth‑generation Acton IV and Stanmore IV Bluetooth speakers, updating its flagship home‑audio line first introduced in 2012. Both models retain the brand’s retro‑inspired design with a textured faux‑leather finish and brass‑knob controls, while adding a customizable “M” button that shortcuts EQ presets, Spotify Tap or voice‑assistant activation.
Key technical upgrades include new high‑frequency tweeters, redesigned waveguides for a wider soundstage, and a bass port moved to the base for better acoustic control. The speakers support the LDAC codec, alongside SBC, AAC and LC3, and now feature RCA line‑in and 3.5 mm jack inputs. Multi‑room syncing is enabled via Marshall’s Auracast technology, with older Acton III and Stanmore III units compatible through the Heddon streaming hub. The Acton IV is priced at £260 (≈ $260) and the larger Stanmore IV at £350 (≈ $350); they are also listed in China for ¥2,499 and ¥3,499 and in Brazil for around R$1,900 and R$2,650.
Both speakers are built with sustainability in mind: the cabinet uses FSC‑certified medium‑density fibreboard and incorporates 13 %–16 % recycled material. Components such as the front grille, knobs and feet are replaceable, improving repairability. Notably, the models lack Wi‑Fi connectivity and built‑in voice‑assistant support.
