Marshals Season 2 premiere follows Kayce Dutton's rescue of Tate

The second season of the CBS series ‘Marshals’ premiered with a plot centered on Kayce Dutton’s attempt to rescue his son, Tate, from Tom Weaver. Rather than the anticipated crossover with the ‘Yellowstone’ universe in Texas, the story shifted to Wyoming, where Weaver held Tate on a ranch.

During the premiere, Kayce faced threats to his property, East Camp, and engaged in a violent confrontation with Weaver’s associates. While Kayce successfully rescued Tate, the episode featured the death of the character Dolly following a car crash involving Tom Weaver. Showrunner Spencer Hudnut defended the decision to kill off the character in an interview with TVLine.
