Marshals Season 2 premieres on CBS with major character death
The second season of the ‘Yellowstone’ spinoff ‘Marshals’ premiered on CBS and Paramount+ on October 4, 2026. The season opener, titled ‘All Hat No Cattle,’ picks up immediately following the Season 1 cliffhanger involving the kidnapping of Tate Dutton.
In the premiere, Kayce Dutton, played by Luke Grimes, embarks on a mission to rescue his son from Tom Weaver. The episode features a violent confrontation and a significant character death when Dolly Weaver, played by Ellyn Jameson, dies after her vehicle rolls down a mountain. Showrunner Spencer Hudnut noted that the death was intended as a punishment for Tom Weaver, as Kayce chooses to let him live with the loss of his daughter.
The new season is expected to run for approximately 20 episodes and continues to be filmed in Summit and Morgan counties, Utah. The narrative explores the fallout of the East Camp land dispute and the criminal networks connected to it.
