Marsico Nuovo Environmental Observatory faces uncertainty

Piero Lacorazza, leader of the PD group in the regional council, has called on Regional Councilor for the Environment, Laura Mongiello, to clarify the future of the Marsico Nuovo Environmental Observatory. The facility has been closed for over a month, leading to demands for transparency regarding its project, resources, and operational methods.

Lacorazza suggested that the observatory could be integrated into a larger environmental-health hub, combining monitoring, health surveillance, and research by networking agencies such as ARPAB and the CNR. He emphasized that any decision regarding the observatory must involve consultation with the local community and the Val d’Agri territory.
